Have you ever heard the expression “Rome wasn’t built in a day”

So as another year begins I find myself taking these first few days of the New Year to reflect on goals I want to accomplish. As I take pen to paper and write all these amazing goals I have and adventures I want to embark on, it is imperative that I remind myself of this quote. As important as it is to set goals, it is just as important to include the steps to reach to my destination.

 There aren’t a lot of “resolutions”/ “goals” I wish to attain, the main thing I will be working on for 2016 is to become more confident. In addition, I will continue to work on creating and leading a healthy lifestyle.  I am sure that millions of others made the same resolution to get healthier, eat better, drink more water, etc.  As amazing as these goals are it is important that I remind myself  that I am not going to wake up tomorrow morning with this sudden increase in self-confidence and be eating clean, organic, grass-fed meat 7 days a week!  As great as it would be, its just not going to happen.  These are things that are going to take some time, it’s a task that is going to require daily work until it becomes second nature.

 So, as you start to make your goals for the 2016 year, regardless of  what they are remember to be gentle and kind to yourself. After all,- Rome wasn’t built in a day!
